What Does an INDIGO IT Consultant Do?

First, we offer a free consultation where we get an overview of your need or project. Next, we will assign the team member best suited to your project – we have Consultants and Engineers available for this

Our initial engagement with a client will usually involve a full review of existing systems alongside an in-depth discussion on business processes. This information is fully documented alongside our recommendations for improvements to make your systems more robust, secure, and efficient. Gaining an in-depth understanding of your business and your requirements forms the building blocks for us to put together an IT strategy on your behalf. It doesn’t stop there; we continue to work with our clients to adapt the strategy so that it develops with the changes in their business experiences. In today’s world, IT is a necessity and IT costs money, so ensuring that the right strategy is in place to cater for technical requirements is critical for any business

Consultations Create Cost Savings & Better Value

Whilst businesses often ensure that they have an effective IT support resource, they regularly rely on a key individual within the organisation to take overall responsibility for IT. This can result in that person spending considerable amounts of their valuable time worrying about IT systems which are often not their primary area of expertise. In this scenario, outsourcing provides the most cost-effective solution, so why not use one of INDIGO IT’s experienced IT Managers to take over the burden of IT within your business, leaving you free to concentrate on what is important to you and your business

Keeping up to date with technology is not easy, as the world of IT moves at an alarming rate. Our consultants are passionate about IT. To ensure that they have a good understanding of all the latest developments, we are constantly updating our knowledge base. This allows us to offer you expert advice on current best practices to ensure that you are making the most of your IT investment

Connectivity

Connectivity is becoming the lifeline of any business, with an increasing number of businesses relying on fast and dependable connections to operate and communicate

A dedicated full-fibre connection to your premises can increase productivity and will give your business a clear advantage over your competitors

Types of Connectivity
  • Leased Lines
  • FTTP & FTTC
  • 4G & 5G Connectivity
  • ADSL & PSTN
  • Gigabit Connections
  • LAN and Managed Routers

Leased Lines

leased Line is a private telecommunications circuit between two or more locations provided according to a commercial contract. It is sometimes also known as a private circuit, and as a data line. Typically, leased lines are used by businesses to connect office locations with high priority connectivity. With most businesses moving to cloud-based systems, internet access is becoming a business-critical service and as a result, the number of businesses in need of Leased Lines is rapidly increasing.

FTTC & FTTP

Whilst FTTP is a pure fibre optic delivery method, FTTC is a blend of copper and fibre optic cables. Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) uses fibre optic cables right up to the street cabinet, and then a copper line (telephone), known as a PSTN line, to connect the cabinet to the premises, be it your home or your business

Cyber Security

Cyber Security Certificate

What do Cyber Security Certificates do?

Security Certificates come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from Cyber Essential for SME’s, IASME for government suppliers, and NIST/CIS20 for large businesses. Getting a certificate will show your customers and prospects that their data and operations are safe with you

How much work is involved?

Your business will have very little to do. You will receive a report with a number of risks to your business, and if the risk is low enough you will be issued a certificate or if it’s high you will have to address these risks before you are issued with the certificate

Firewalls and Hardware Security

Hardware Security

Having the right firewall is one of the most important things to consider. Even with homeworkers working offsite all of the important information can still be protected by locking down one location

Are Firewalls expensive?

In a word no, they cost very little in comparison to most of your IT network. Firewalls are built into most home routers but are rarely strong enough for a business. A business has a lot to lose if the wrong person gets through their security, so spending a small amount to protect a large amount often makes sense
